Rossi Family Heritage
Like I have said before it is very confusing to do any Rossi family heritage. Mostly because it is the most popular name in Italy. It is very easy to add a person whom doesn't belong or to misplace a person because of dates. In our immediate family we are all named after someone. My father is named after his Grandfather,
my brother is named after my father and so on...I am named after my great Grandmother and I'm having a problem finding out whom my sister is named after.
I will start with myself and then my father as number 1.
Angela Marie Rossi-Blake
1. Marion Rossi Sr. (my father) Sandra Sue Rossi
2. Tommaso "Tom" Rossi 1914-2007 Annunziata Rossi (Annzie)
3. Mariano Rossi 1889- Carmina DeGuili
4.Giuseppe Rossi 1857-1919 Angela Maria Carinci 1860-
5. Loreto Mario Rossi 1827- Rosaria Droghei 1830-1913
This is what I have so far that I know what is right when it comes to my Grandfather's side of the family. I've noticed that it has taken me a very long time to be able to continue the research on my Grandmother's side of the family. It's a lot harder to trace back the Italian women for some reason. This is what I have so far. I've not been able to discuss things with my father to see if they are right or not. I have a feeling they are though.
1. Marion Rossi Sr. (my father) Sandra Sue Rossi (my mother)
2. Annunziata Rossi (Annzie, my grandmother) Tommaso "Tom" Rossi (my grandfather)
3. Giovanna Borsa Rossi (my great grandmother) Giovanni Rossi (my great grandfather)
4. Giuseppa Notarberardino (my 2nd great grandmother) Donato Borsa (my 2nd great grandfather)
5. Archangela Fedele Giuseppa Borsa
I will get more information on the Italian women in our family when I have more time to do some research. At least there's a small rundown of what I've got in the family so far. :) More updates when I can get them!

This is me and my lovely Grandmother Annunziata (Annzie) Rossi. She was born in 1912. Her mother is Giovanna Borsa Rossi. It is said that Giovanni Rossi (my great Grandfather) came to America to find work. He was staying in Segundo, Colorado. My great Grandmother got word that my great Grandfather was cheating on her. She came to America to get her husband and go back home. For some reason or rather getting back home was difficult and they wound up staying in Segundo, Colorado for a while. Segundo, Colorado is where my Grandmother was born. I guess they'd settled their differences and he went back home to Frosinone, Italy with his wife.
That was over 100 years ago when that happened. My Grandmother just had her 100th birthday in Pingree, Idaho. She had over 200 people show up for her birthday. Wow! Over 200 people! I guess when you are kind to everyone you meet you get 200 people at your 100th birthday!

This is my Grandfather Tommaso "Tom" Rossi. He is celebrating his 75th wedding anniversary with his wife Annunziata "Annzie" Rossi. Grandma came to America with my father and my Aunt Carmina when my father was 11 years old on a ship they called The Independence. The war soon took my Grandfather but he only fought for about five months. My great Grandmother Carmina passed away and two years later my great Grandfather Mariano passed away as well. That left my Grandparents to take care of my Grandfather's brothers and sisters. The army discharged him and he soon followed Grandma to America. They settled on a huge potato farm in Pingree, Idaho and raised his brother's and sisters. They spent 75 wonderful years together. In the year 2007 my Grandfather Tommaso "Tom" Rossi passed away due to natural causes. He was an amazing man, a wonderful husband and I will always remember him as a wonderful.Grandfather.
This is a picture of my Dad and Grandma. It was Grandma's 100th birthday party. A beautiful moment captured with the flick of a camera. Dad is 75 years old. March 25, 2013~The day my Grandma turned 100 years old!
This is my Uncle Mike Rossi. His daughter, Denise gave this to me through Facebook. I love this picture. This is exactly how I remember Uncle Mike, too. Always smiling and happy. He was also one of my Grandmother Annzi's best friends. There were two brothers that married two sisters in our family and he was one of the brothers. He married my Great Grandmother's sister Katherine J. Honeycutt. Rocco Rossi married my Great Grandmother's other sister Maria Borsa. My great Grandmother's husband was Giovanni Rossi. My Great Grandmother's name was Giovanna Borsa. It could get a little crazy if you think about it too much. So I try not to do it. But, at either rate they're a wonderful family no matter how they got together or who they got together with. I am just glad I'm here today to be with them and get to know them all.
Denise and Greg
This is my cousin Denise, (and her husband Greg) Mike Rossi's daughter. They are at my Grandma Rossi's 100th birthday party, along with 200 other people (at least, Kathy said). They had it at the little church in Pingree, Idaho. The community all got together and they built the little church. It is a beautiful little church and I love it!
I've never met my cousin Denise but I've been writing to her on Facebook and such. She sent these pictures to me so I can put them on my web site. I love them! Thanks Denise!
The blond in the picture is my sister Kathy holding her Grandson, Enzo. The lady beside her is my cousin LeAnna. It had been thirty years since I had been to Idaho. The last recollection of LeAnna that I had was a girl with long black hair and huge brown eyes. It seemed like ages ago. LeAnna has children of her own now. LeAnna's maiden name is DeGuilio. Her mother's name is Velia DeGuilio. Her father's name was Billy DeGuilio. In Italian Aunt and Uncle are Zia and Zio. Zia Velia is a beautiful lady. When I hadn't been to Idaho for thirty years she came the second day I was there. She remembered my birthday and didn't let go of my hand the whole time she was visiting. Uncle Billy passed away many years earlier and Zia Velia has since remarried. We aren't exactly sure how these guys are related to us but we know they are related to us. When I get more information I will be glad to put it on here and on the family tree.
The DeGiulio Family
The DeGiulio family was also a difficult family to do the research. When they were in Italy they went by the name of DeGiuli. (without the 'o') and then when they came over to America the 'o' was somehow added onto the name. The Rossi and the DeGiulio family cross back and forth several times with arranged marriages way back when and the like.
Aunt Mary and Uncle Sosio "Sauce" DeGuilio
These two were two of my very favorite people in the whole world. They were also my Godparents. I remember spending many weeks out of the summer at their house visiting and playing. I will so miss both of them tremendously. I cried both times when my mother called me and told me that they passed away. I'd never been so broken hearted. I've since done a lot of research on their family. Uncle Sauce is the third or fourth Sosio in his family of DeGuilio's. Back then there were numerous deaths of younger children. They had three to four pass away in their family alone. I'm not sure the reason but sometimes it was just due to the fact that there were not as good of doctors then as we have today. It's not unusual for a child to pass away and the next child be named after them. Which is what happened with my Uncle Sauce. They came to Toole, Utah from Italy and settled in Pingree, Idaho. He and my Aunt Mary had many children and only four or five had survived. (so sad). Uncle Sauce's family is related to us through his mother and father. His father is Giustino DeGuilio and his mother Anna Rossi.
